So we took the kids to Southbank last weekend. It was a lovely day, the sun was shining but wasn't ridiculously hot, there was a soft breeze and the markets were busy but not crowded.
While we stayed away from the markets as much as we could, we took the girls through what used to be called Gondwana land, but now is just a nature walk.

A trip to Southbank isn't complete without going to the gazebo left from Expo '88. It stood in this exact spot during that fantastic gathering of world exhibitions. I meant to get a pic of the plaque telling us all about it. Will have to do that next time we go in.

As you can see the carving in this thing is pretty impressive. It goes all the way around and all through the middle and the pews that are inside have it on them too. Very cool and rather awe inspiring.
The girls had a lot of fun. Cos of course we took them in on the train so the whole day was a great big adventure for them!

The arbour was looking fantastic with so many of the bouganvillea's in wonderful full bloom. Walking under it was so uplifting and fresh.

Is that amazing or what?? And conveniently enough, there was a perfect moment as my camera snapped that there was not a soul walking in this area.
